Ever pick up your child from creche and realise you forgot to check when they last napped or ate? Us neither. What kind of terrible parent would forget to check these details???
Luckily there’s now an app to keep track of all your children’s activities even when they are in childcare.
Little Vista is a tablet-based app that will significantly reduce paperwork for staff of childcare companies, allowing caregivers more time to focus on the needs of the children in their care. Over 150 creche facilities and 10,000 families nationwide already use the app currently.
The Dun Laoghaire-based software company has recently raised €700,000 in investment funds enabling the creation of nine new jobs within the company. These new appointments will more than double the size of the company since their launch in 2013, ahead of their planned move into the UK market.
“We want to lead the charge in the transition from paper to digital and create a greater level of intimacy between childcare providers and parents”, says one of the company’s four founders, Kieran Walkin.
The app allows childcare providers to update a secure online database with real-time information and even photographs of the children in their care, which can be shared instantly with the parents.
Little Vista will allow for smoother communication between parents and their children’s caregivers. When using Little Vista, an accurate snapshot of the child’s activities can be safely shared with the parents whether they are at home, at work or in transit.
The child’s day from naps to meals can be catalogued online which will make a useful reference for parents collecting their kids. The app also allows the creche to share photos of developmental progress that will assuage parents’ fear of missing those crucial firsts. There is even a function to log in real time a child’s trips to the bathroom, which you’d think we could live without but each to their own.
