We fell out of love with Madonna for a few years there. Basically the Guy Ritchie years really but lately the 56-year-old has been reigniting our lust for her with her impressive styling-out of cape misadventures and unapologetically rampant cougar-ing.
Last night on the Tonight Show she revealed that she harbours ambitions to “simplify” her act and would like to get into stand-up comedy. She debuted her routine and was actually kind of brilliant. She sent herself up beautifully (“I decided to move up the food chain, I started dating a 28-year-old.”) and this coupled with the fishnet cycling shorts she wore while doing it has made it official. We’ve fallen in love all over again.
“There is an upside to dating younger guys and that is…they’re really good with phones.”
The Material Girl’s material may not have been the best stuff we’ve ever heard but her gumption seriously impressed and she endeared herself to us when pleading with the audience to keep her on:
“Wait please don’t pull me off, I’ve got more. I’ve got more jokes.”
