The inevitable Autumn school drops have begun. You won’t defeat the daily grind with gridlock, but some things are avoidable if you plan in advance. Some clever dude once said, “If you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail.” Don’t fret – just like there’s an app for everything, there’s a mum-knows-best hack (shortcut) for everything too.
Be in-the-know with these easy battery-saving tips:
1. Fail-safe portable charger
Is there anything worse than being late for pick-up with no phone battery as you battle horrendous traffic? It’s just a stress you do not need in your day. Enter this nifty, portable must-have device. For any parent who battles the daily stress of traffic, you need this in your life!
2. Plug-in please
If you have a phone, and you have a car, not having a plug-in charger for your cigarette lighter is just plain crazy. It’s almost like not having a hair brush when you have hair. No-brainer.
3. Switch to flight mode
Battery coming dangerously close to the red? Switch your mobile to Airplane Mode to save on juice, and it charges your phone twice as fast too. Whoot.
4. ‘Good Vibrations’, but not always
Fond of your phone vibrating? Might be time to switch it off – it’s a major waste of battery. Sure, it’s handy when you don’t want your phone disturbing your favourite radio show, but you’ll be amazed how quickly it saves on juice.
5. Mobile data off, thanks
If you live in a remote area, or far from an area with good WiFi reception, it can be hard to resist switching this button. Refrain. This function is hard on juice and harder on your bank balance.
6. Spare phone battery joy
Android users – were you aware you can purchase a spare battery? Do it. Then, store it in the glove compartment, and you’ll be forever grateful.
Remember: Always use a hands-free kit while driving. Having a full battery is awesome, but it won’t save your life.
