Forget about sit-ups and the plank, it seems that laughter is the key to good abs… or at least, that’s what a recent study is claiming.
The Daily Star reports that new research, commissioned by television channel Dave, found that laughter can improve your cardiovascular health and burn calories.
Study co-author Dr Helen Pilcher also said that their findings suggest that belly laughs are better at toning the oblique muscles than stomach crunches.
While we’re not questioning the results – we’ve often had sore tummy muscles after an uncontrollable laughing outburst – but we are assuming that exercise is still needed.
We are also assuming that a healthy diet is also needed in which case we would recommend checking out these tummy-flattening foods.
If you really want to tone your tummy, try these exercises as recommended by fitness expert Gillian Hynes.
