Summer 2016 is finally here, with many parts of Ireland basking in temperatures hotter than Ibiza this week and MORE glorious sunshine forecast for the weekend.
In Sligo the mercury tipped 22.7C on Thursday, just a touch hotter than it was in the Spanish holiday hub, while Donegal, Roscommon and Mayo enjoyed 20C peaks… all thanks to a warm air front hitting our little island from France and Spain.

And it’s looking like the good times are here to stay: apart from a few isolated heavy showers, Met Eireann is forecasting mild or warm temperatures for most areas, with highest temperatures of up to 23 degrees.

There’s a dry Saturday in store (barbecues at the ready, folks!) and Sunday will be a little cooler, with highs of 15 to 19C.
We can certainly live with that.
