This week….
Your baby
Is about 51cm by now and, although already between 3kg and 3.2 kg (the weight of a small watermelon) continues to put on weight. The head is about 10cm in diameter — ready to fit through that cervix when it dilates to 10cm.
Your baby has mastered all the skills it will need when it’s born.
Less space in your uterus for movement means that most of the kicks will be felt lower in your belly.
You
Gentle swimming or taking warm baths will help ease those aches and pains. If you are still constipated, sort it out now, or it will add to discomfort in labour.
Get those legs up when you can to help reduce the swelling in your feet and ankles .
As your body prepares to go into labour you may even pass the mucous plug that has blocked the entrance to your cervix throughout pregnancy.

Puffy feet are pretty much par for the course during pregnancy but there are some time-honoured ways to make your tootsies feel terrific (or close to it).
