An American dad has hit the headlines worldwide after a lighthearted video he made in support of breastfeeding mums went viral.
In the video, Pennsylvania’s Brock Smith attempts to enjoy a meal in a restaurant with a blanket covering his head and face. During the clip, he tells the camera:
“I wish I didn’t have to eat with a blanket over my head. Maybe I should just go and sit in the toilet.”
The post was shared by the Breastfeeding Mama Facebook community. Speaking to the site on behalf of himself and his partner, who he admits has never been shamed for breastfeeding in public, Mr Smith said the video was made in defence of mums who do face negativity:
“For people to be ignorant enough to harass a mother trying to have a normal life while breastfeeding a child just infuriates us. We have never been harassed ourselves but we hear all the horror stories from friends and social media… just something we thought to do!”
“As a dad and a husband… I’ve had enough of this asinine argument,”
