Singer Paloma Faith has taken to Instagram to share her joy at becoming a first-time mum.
The former The Voice mentor wrote that she underwent an emergency Caesarean after a difficult labour and expressed her thanks to the hospital staff. Paloma went on to praise the UK’s NHS as one of the country’s greatest achievements:
“After a difficult labour resulting in an emergency C-section, I gave birth to my first child, with whom I am over the moon, in love and delighted. What a trip! It was all with the help with some incredibly doctors, midwives and nurses at UCH NHS Hospital.
The devotion, kindness and commitment shown by all of them was second to none and I am humbled by the experience. I really believe the NHS to be one of the great achievements of this country and it should be respected and protected by all.
I am humbled by the unfaltering dedication I witnessed and received there. So thank you to the NHS…”
After thanking a number of individuals who helped to bring her baba into the world, the Only Love Could Hurt Like This singer signed off by saying:
“And God bless the NHS.”
Huge congratulations to Paloma and her partner Leyman! We can’t wait to hear the name, it’s going to be a good one…
