Dad cleared of daughter’s murder charges after son admits he did it

The incident occurred in 2015.

A dad has been cleared of charges regarding his daughter’s murder after his son admitted that he caused the death.

Anthony Michael Sanders was accused of suffocating his two-year-old daughter, Ellie Mae, in 2015.

Police thought that Sanders had killed his daughter because she would not be quiet.

The 33-year-old denied the charges. He was arrested in 2016 and was held in a Fort Worth prison.

This week, local news agency Star Telegram reported that the charges against Sanders had been dropped after his seven-year-old son confessed to causing the death.

Ellie’s mother, Cassie Wright, said that her son had hit the toddler with a pillow “that was too heavy to get off the girl.”

“He was unable to move the pillow. He said that the pillow was a rectangle and was heavy. It had something zipped inside which made the pillow heavy.”

The boy didn’t tell anybody what had happened because he “didn’t want to get in trouble.”
