According to the social media statement, Deputy Nix began to perform “several life-saving measures” on the little boy.
However, he didn’t see any improvement. Not wanting to risk the wait for an ambulance, he decided to rush Kingston to the hospital in his police car.
In the nearly four minute video, Deputy Nix is later heard telling dispatch he’s “not waiting on medics”.
He added:
“I’m a half mile away from ORC [Ocala Regional Medical Center]. I’m headed to the emergency room with the baby.”
He is then pictured next to a smiling Kingston, who is laying down as he gets treated in the hospital. Nix is also pictured holding the little boy, who is wrapped in a blanket.
The post was later updated to say that baby Kingston is doing well, and that he has since been released from the hospital.
