They have basically been the Ross and Rachel of Weatherfield with their are-they-or-aren’t-they relationship.
And now Coronation Street’s Kym Marsh has given fresh hope to fans that Michelle Connor and Steve McDonald could reunite…again.
The two characters tied the knot in 2015 but things fell apart, with Steve looking set to wed Tracy Barlow (again) and Michelle in a relationship with Robert Preston.
Although, who knows what’s next for the pair?
Last month, Steve kissed Michelle after she turned to him when she experienced some cold feet ahead of her wedding day to Robert (which Phelan then interrupted).
And now Kym has sparked speculation that a reunion between the former flames could actually be on the cards.
She told Lorraine how Steve and Michelle often get compared to Friends’ Ross and Rachel, adding:
“Everyone says this to me all the time. They always say we are very much the Ross and Rachel of Coronation Street.
“We tend to keep going around to each other again. You never know. Who knows what’s to come in the future, but at the moment, she is very much ‘Team Robert’.”
It comes as Michelle and Robert are set for a chilling near-death experience this week after the pair decide to have some fun in The Bistro’s freezer.
However, when Michelle’s son Ryan sneaks in to steal some steaks, he accidentally nudges the door closed – trapping them inside.
That leaves Michelle and Robert facing a tense and very, very uncomfortable wait before they are (hopefully) rescued.
