Picture the scene: It’s cheat day and you’re struggling to choose between pizza and cookies. Should you plump for the sweet, sugary goodness of the chocolate chip? Or the savoury meltiness of your favourite pie? Before you do something you’ll regret, stop right there: consider the Pizookie.
For something so completely epic, a pizookie is actually a cinch to make. Plus there’s no funny business, you simply whack all the ingredients into a pan, give them a stir and bake.
Listen; if you’re going to have a cheat day, you may as well do it in style. Buy some ice cream and a 9″ pan. Warm up the oven.
Here’s how to pizookie the heck out of your weekend.
- 5 tbsp melted unsalted butter
- ⅓ cup dark brown sugar
- ¼ cup white sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1¼ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- ¾ chocolate chips
- Pour melted butter straight in a 9 inch pan.
- Preheat oven to 190 degrees C.
- In a 9 inch pan, pour melted butter along with the sugars and combine.
- Add the egg, vanilla extract and mix.
- Next, dump all the dry ingredients and mix until incorporated.
- Fold in chocolate chips and spread the batter smooth.
- Bake the Pizookie at 190 degrees C for 10 -12 minutes or until lightly golden brown around the edges but a bit under-baked in the centre.
- Top with vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of melted chocolate.
