So you’ve probably heard of Olaplex by now, and if not, what bush have you been hiding under? It has been hailed as the absolute Holy Grail for mega-blondes.
As far as revolutionary products go, it’s safe to say; this is loved by many, many blondes. The groundbreaking product is being used up-and-down the country in salons alongside the application of bleach, as the formula counteracts the negative affects of bleaching. Olaplex also launched a treatment you can use at home for upkeep between appointments. But, when you’re a busy mum, it’s hard to find the time to do hair treatments at home – some days, just washing and drying your hair is a struggle, never mind leaving a treatment in, then washing it out again.
Despite all the praise Olaplex gets, some head stylists have snubbed its benefits because it’s water-based, therefore slowing-down the process time it takes for your colour at the salon.
Word has it, the celeb hair stylists in LA are now using the Brazilian Bond Builder Color Care range – it’s even better for fried hair – a TOTAL game changer for dry, chemically-parched hair. A bit like Olaplex on steroids. The hair colour is used by salon professionals, but the B3 shampoo, conditioner, and treatment are available for home use by mere mortals. The reason it’s so good is that it uses bond-building technology and hydrating actives to instantly repair and condition hair for up to 12 washes! It’s also rumoured to be what saved Kim Kardashian’s strands when she bleached for a day and then swapped back, but then it also helps when you have a stylist on-hand every day, I guess.
These beauts are easy-to-use at home with no messin’ – just use as your everyday products. For blondies like me, the whiff of an easier, healthier upkeep between colour appointments gets me excited.
