3 Children’s Hospitals Release A Statement Warning Of Increased Waiting Times

The Children’s Hospital Group, who represent Temple Street, Crumlin Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Hospital in Tallaght have released an apology statement to patients this weekend.

The joint statement comes as increasing demands have been put on our capital’s hospitals at this busy time of year. The hospitals, fearful of unprecedented demands on their resources are urging parents to contact their GP or out-of-hours GP services, before attending one of the hospitals after a recent increase in children being brought to the hospitals with respiratory infections.

The statement said that the group is working closely with “Clinical Directors and hospital management in the three hospitals to ensure that every effort is made to manage this situation.”

This warning has come in light of Tuesday’s news of an electrical fault at Temple Street hospital which forced an ‘off-call for ambulances’ temporarily. The hospital said it “continues to demonstrate the need for a new children’s hospital.”

Indeed. We will watch this space, parents.
