Whether you’re raising boys, girls or both, there’s every chance that they will come up with questions that be extremely difficult to find the right answer for.
Aside from the common ‘why is the sky blue Mummy’, there are the much deeper queries and actress Alyson Hannigan found herself in this very position recently.
In conversation with Today recently at an event held for Starlight Children’s Foundation, an organisation designed to help hospitalised children and their families, the mother of two spoke of a situation where she was put on the spot by her eldest daughter.
Alyson’s eight-year-old Satyana asked her “if girls can do the same things that boys can do”.
Alyson described it as a “dreaded question” and said her “heart sank” when her little girl came out with this question.
However, she wasn’t long thinking of a kick-ass response and said:
“Girls can do everything boys can do, and more because we can also give birth!”
We have to say that it was the perfect response, particularly when she didn’t have much time to come up with it.
Alyson, married her Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-star Alexis Denisof in 2003 and they have two daughters Satyana (8) and Keeva (5).
