A newborn baby snatched from a hospital nursery has been returned following a frantic search.
The baby girl was taken from the Pannadhay Wing at MB General Hospital in Udaipur city, Rajasthan on Sunday.
The kidnapper, a middle-aged woman who told doctors she was bringing the infant to its mother to be fed, was captured on CCTV leaving the hospital with the baby tucked inside her clothes.

According to the Hindustan Times, the child was discovered the next day on the steps of a temple and is said to be in good health, despite her ordeal. A note pinned to the child’s blanket read: ‘Please give this child to RNT nursery. Sorry.’

Police are investigating and believe that the child-snatcher is a ‘well-educated’ woman who lives locally.
