Boy (14) Arrested Over Fatal Stabbing Of Reece Cullen

Gardaí have arrested a 14-year-old boy in connection with the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Reece Cullen in Dublin yesterday afternoon.

The ‘frenzied’ attack happened just after 3pm on Thursday at a house in Kilclare Crescent in Jobstown in the Dublin suburb.

Reece, one of three brothers who lost their mother in September, was rushed to Tallaght hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.

According to the latest reports, the teenager arrested in connection with the attack presented himself at Tallaght Garda Station at 7am this morning. He can be questioned for up to 24 hours.

The weapon used has not yet been recovered and Gardaí have confirmed that the scene has been preserved for a technical examination.

An appeal has been made for any witnesses who were in the area to come forward with any information:

“Gardai wish to appeal to witnesses who may have been in the Kilclare area this afternoon between 2.45p.m and 3.30p.m. to contact them at Tallaght Garda Station on 01 666 6000, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.”

Meanwhile, the Tallaght community continue to mourn the talented young boxer, who would have celebrated his 18th birthday in the coming days.
