A private fertility clinic in the UK is offering a new method which signifies a breakthrough in IVF treatment.
AneVivo is a method which enables the mother to conceive in the womb by inserting a capsule with both the sperm and egg into the uterus.
Traditionally, for IVF, this process happens in a dish in a lab and some studies suggest that this increases the risk of health defects
Experts are hoping that this more natural method of conception will potentially mean healthier pregnancies.

Professor Nick Macklon, head of the clinic in Southampton, told the BBC: “At this stage we are just offering it to private patients.
“If the NHS want to use it then they would need to know that it is cost effective. We do not know that yet.
“But that doesn’t mean new technology like this can’t be introduced in a cautious manner. I’m very keen that we study new innovation in IVF.”
This new technique has been approved by HFEA (the UK’s fertility watchdog) and apparently costs approximately £700 per go.
