Britney Spears has appealed to the public to pray for her niece Maddie following her accident at the weekend.
In an Instagram post, the singer said, “Need all the wishes and prayers for my niece”.
Maddie, who is 8 years old and the daughter of Jamie Lynn Spears, was involved in an accident on Sunday when the quad bike she was in drove into a pond. Maddie, who was out hunting at the time, got trapped under water and fell unconscious.
She was later transported to the hospital where she was said to be in a serious condition. Jamie Lynn’s dad spoke to media shortly afterward saying that they needed prayers for Maddie.
Maddie is pictured below in a similar quad bike to the one the accident occurred in.
Jamie Lynn has previously shared pictures of them hunting.
