Eleven arrests made in Munster child abuse investigation

Harrowing news this evening.

A Garda statement released this evening states that eleven people were arrested today as part of an investigation into the alleged sexual exploitation of children.

Six women and five men were arrested in Limerick, Kerry and Cork and the statement says that these adults range in age from 20 to 70.

They are detained tonight at Garda stations in Limerick, Cork and Clare.

It’s thought that the children were residents in the Newcastle West Garda district at the time.

The arrests were made by Gardaí from Newcastle West, Bruff, Henry Street, Mayorstone Park and Roxboro Road working together with the Limerick Divisional Protective Services Unit.
