Gardaí Investigating Death of Dog Which Was Locked in Car Outside Bloom Festival

Gardaí in Blanchardstown are investigating the death of a dog after it was locked in a car outside Bloom festival last week.

According to The Irish Times, onlookers called the authorities last Friday afternoon when they became concerned about the welfare of the animal.

The windows of the vehicle were all shut and there was no water for the dog in conditions where temperatures rose to over 18 degrees Celsius.

It is believed that the animal was left in the car for more than three hours. It sadly had to be put down after being taken to a vet.

A Garda spokesperson said: “On a hot day you have to take responsibility for the animal in your care.”
