Gardai say the investigation is ongoing
Gardaí in Balbriggan confirmed the discovery of human remains on Lambay Island, off the coast of north county Dublin.
An investigation has commenced following discovery which was made on Thursday evening by staff working on the island.
The remains have been removed to the Dublin City Morgue where a post-mortem examination will be conducted by the State Pathologist, the results of which will assist investigating Gardaí in confirming the identity of the body and with the course of their investigation.
