An investigation is said to be underway following the deaths of two babies at Cavan General Hospital.
RTÉ News reports that the Health Service Executive (HSE) is looking at the circumstances surrounding two separate cases in the past week.
In one of the cases, the baby died following an emergency Caesarean section.
An issue that will be considered is whether there was a delay in performing the procedure.
Cavan General Hospital has not released a statement on the matter.
