Nothing sends the internet at large into meltdown like a royal baby rumour, but word has it we can expect some news by Christmas.
According to a palace insider, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are hoping to welcome a sibling for three-year-old Prince George and Princess Charlotte (16 months) in 2017.
Kate and Wills, both 34, have taken some criticism for their rare public appearances of late, but, as the source explained to US Weekly, they are likely taking things easy as part of their efforts to expand their brood.
“It would not surprise me if they were pregnant by Christmas,” an insider told the magazine.
“I think they both would have been overwhelmed at the thought of a third child a year ago, but now it sounds perfect. They’ve both always wanted a big family.”
In July, Kensington Palace announced that Prince William and Kate would be returning to Canada this month, taking in British Columbia and the territory of Yukon as part of their visit.
The couple will be taking their two children along with them.
Prince George famously won the hearts of young and old when he accompanied his parents on a tour of Australia and New Zealand in 2014 but this will be Princess Charlotte’s first royal trip overseas.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be travelling on the invitation of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to mark its upcoming 150th birthday celebrations in 2017. Sources say they will travel first class to Vancouver in late September, with an entourage including the family nanny and Kate’s hairdresser Amanda Cook.
The pair first visited Canada in July of 2011 as newlyweds. Aside from their official duties, they found time for a little fun, even taking cooking classes at l’Institut de tourisme et d’hôtellerie du Québec.
Here’s hoping they might reveal some very exciting news when they return!
