Man’s body discovered in Fermoy, Co.Cork

The body of a man was discovered at a garage on the Dublin Road, Fermoy, last night.

Gardaí were called to the scene of a truck parking area at the garage last night at 10:30 pm last night.

It’s believed that the deceased, aged 40, suffered severe head injuries.

A second man was taken to Cork University Hospital but his injuries are described as non-life-threatening.

According to a Garda statement, two males were arrested at the scene and are currently being detained at Fermoy and Mallow Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

The scene, located on the Pike Road has been cordoned off and a full forensic examination will be carried out today.
