UPDATED: 3:10PM: 20 Dead following Horror Nightclub Attack
More than twenty people have reportedly been injured after a gunman opened fire in a nightclub in Orlando, Florida in the early hours of this morning.
Local media suggests that a number of patrons have been taken hostage by a man carrying a semi-automatic weapon, with some of them posting on social media from inside the premises.
At around 2am, the Pulse nightclub posted a chilling message to revellers on its Facebook page, warning everyone to “get out and keep running”.
Footage shared on social media shows police and ambulances arriving at the scene and injured people being treated by medics in a carpark.

“We were just leaving the club and we started hearing the shots,” clubber Anthony Torres told the New York Daily News. “Everyone was running and screaming.”
