As much as we try to keep plugs and our phone charger out of the way of little hands, sometimes they still manage to find them or pull them down from a countertop.
As long as you catch them in time, it shouldn’t cause any injuries. One mother in America, Courtney Davis, wasn’t as lucky and didn’t stop her daughter in time, resulting in severe burns.
She’s warning parents, guardians and babysitters to be very careful about leaving phone chargers lying about after her daughter stuck the end of the charger into her mouth and sustained the serious burns. She took to Facebook and said:
“On Sept 28th my 19 month old stuck my phone charger in her mouth. We went to the Dr who confirmed that it was an electrical burn there was nothing they could put on it due to her being able to lick it.
Any other day my charger wouldn’t have been plugged up in her reach but bc of a bunch of stuff going on that day I didn’t have time to move it. It took all of a few seconds for her to get burned. The one day it isn’t moved she stuck it in her mouth and got a severe burn.”
She added photos along with the post which look very painful for the little girl.
She also gave an update, saying:
“Gabby’s mouth is looking better. We have an appt tomorrow with her pediatrician to see about getting a referral to a specialist. She still acts like it doesn’t hurt.”
