Olympic gold medalist Bode Miller ‘beyond devastated’ as his 19-month-old drowns

This is very upsetting.

The 19-month-old daughter of US Olympic skier Bode Miller has drowned in a swimming pool.

Emmeline Miller, known as Emmy, was found unconscious at a neighbour’s home in California and according to reports, doctors were unable to revive her.

Bode shared an incredibly heartfelt post about his daughter in the aftermath of her death, saying that “her spirit will never be forgotten.”

He wrote: “We are beyond devastated. Our baby girl, Emmy, passed away yesterday. Never in a million years did we think we would experience a pain like this.

“Her love, her light, her spirit will never be forgotten. Our little girl loved life and lived it to its fullest every day. Our family respectfully requests privacy during this painful time.”

He shared a number of photos and videos of Emmy in the post.

The Californian local authorities told ABC News that their daughter somehow made her way over to the pool and was found by Ms Miller and she tried to resuscitate her.

Paramedics then took the toddler to hospital but they were unable to revive her.

Bode and his wife Morgan are currently expecting their third child.
