The parents were arrested after the tattoo was spotted at a school dance.
A teacher called the police after she spotted a 12-year-old student with a tattoo that read “Jesus Loves” on her shoulder at a school dance.
The school says this was the first time they noticed the tattoo as the girl was wearing a strapless dress.
The girl told police that her father has forced her to get the tattoo, however, later changed her statement to say that she had wanted it all along.
The father of the girl said that his daughter has gotten the tattoo while at a Super Bowl party – which was later confirmed thanks to a video of the tattoo artist tattooing several people, many of whom were under the age of 18.
Both the girl’s father and mother were arrested and charged with being party to a crime.
