Photo of little boy saying goodbye to his sister before she passes away goes viral

A photo of a little boy saying goodbye to his sister before she passed away has gone viral.

Six-year-old Jackson Sooter held four-year-old Addy Sooter’s hand and rubbed her forehead just hours before she tragically lost her battle with cancer.

The girl had been suffering from a form of brain tumour that affected her muscles, nerves, and breathing.

The heartbreaking moment was caught by the siblings’ father, Matt, and onto a Facebook page called ‘Hope for Addy.’

Dad Matt wrote that “a little boy should not have to say goodbye to his partner in crime.”

He wrote:

“A little boy should not have to say goodbye to his partner in crime, his play mate, his best friend, his little sister. This isn’t how it’s supposed to be.

“But this is the broken world we live in. Addy’s symptoms have progressed rapidly over the past day and a half. Yesterday she woke up as her spunky playful self.

“While we still see short instances of our girl she can no longer eat or swallow without difficulty and she’s sleeping most of the time now and we’ve admitted her into inpatient care. Most likely she doesn’t have much time left.”

Addy passed away later that day, not long after the photo was posted by Matt.

The image has since received over 5,000 reactions on Facebook and almost 1,500 shares.

Matt wrote later that his daughter “wasn’t in any pain.”
