Anyone who has ever given birth will tell you that once it is over, sure you will feel exhausted, but you will also feel more amazing that you have ever felt in your life.
I remember it amazed me so much, when I had just given birth to my baby girl, how you can literally be screaming in pain one minute, only for it to be completely over mere moments later – and suddenly; you will feel more alive, more in love and more deliriously happy than you have ever felt before. It is without a doubt the most amazing high you will ever feel; it is your Super Human moment.
Which is probably the reason the picture of this Australian mum, snapped only an hour after she had given birth to her second child, has gone viral, with mamas everywhere relating to her radiant happiness and energy.
The candid black-and-white snap showcases the mother’s beautiful post-birth body, massive hospital nappy and all, while she happily poses for the impromptu pic.
And after Alyce’s birth photographer, Melissa Jean, shared the image on her Facebook page, messages of how the image captured positivity, self-acceptance and the happiness that is childbirth started to flood in of.
“It was a totally impromptu moment – I’d just had a shower when Melissa said we should take a photo,” Alyce told Daily Mail Australia.
“She’s been a personal friend of mine since she shot me during my first pregnancy and after the birth of my first son. I thought I would have her present after giving birth to Lachlan for some more photos, and had literally just hopped out of the shower when she decided to take the shot.”
