This is going to be devastating.
Coronation Street’s Sinead Tinker is going to be diagnosed with cervical cancer – weeks after finding out she is expecting a baby with boyfriend Daniel Osbourne.
Upcoming scenes will find Sinead, played by Katie McGlynn, facing the news after she had ignored the symptoms for some time, according to The Sun.
A TV insider told the publication that the news will be a “real bombshell” for the other Weatherfield residents.

Sinead will be the first resident of the cobbles to receive the diagnosis since Amanda Barrie’s Alma Halliwell 17 years ago.
The source said:
“The memories of what happened to Alma [Halliwell] will come flooding back for Weatherfield’s older viewers.
“It was a controversial storyline at the time as Amanda accused bosses of using it for ratings.
“And some said the speed with which Alma deteriorated was very unrealistic.
“It remains to be seen whether Sinead’s cancer battle will have a similarly tragic ending.”
The diagnosis is going to leave the Underworld knicker factory machinist with some big decisions to make.
She will reportedly consider whether to undergo treatment, which may risk the life of her unborn baby, or to have an abortion.
Throughout it all, Sinead tries to prevent any more pain for Daniel – and makes the decision to keep her diagnosis from him.
During the same time, though, he will be secretly making plans for their big day.
