Care is needed on the roads this morning, following overnight temperatures.
Temperatures reached lows of -6 in some areas overnight resulting in poor driving conditions. AA Roadwatch and Met Éireann have both issued updates this morning.
Met Éireann has highlighted the areas that recorded the lowest temperatures around the country.

While The AA has said, “It’s a frosty start to the day in most areas. Remember stopping distances are 10 times longer in such conditions. Slow down and leave yourself more time to reach your destination.”
Be especially careful in sheltered areas where black ice may linger well into the morning, and on secondary routes that won’t have as much traffic throughout the day.
