Sisters buried together after tragic Florida building collapse kills them and both parents

Two sisters, who tragically died in the Florida condo collapse, have been laid to rest together.

The young girls and their parents’ bodies were found under the rubble after part of the Champlain Towers South collapsed.

11-year-old Lucia Guara and her 4-year-old sister Emma were buried in the same casket, alongside their mum and dad this week. Pink and purple ribbons were placed on the sisters’ coffin.

According to ABC News, Emma was the princess of the family, and her big sister Lucia, affectionately known as Lula Bear, loved to do yoga with her mum and watch Jeopardy with her dad.

A service took place at the family’s Catholic parish St. Joseph on Tuesday.

Amazing Grace was played and church-goers prayed for those still missing during the harrowing funeral.

Rev. Juan J. Sosa commented, “May we all connect with family as Lucia would. May we all move with grace as Emma would. May we all be as devoted and loyal as Marcus and Anaely were.”

Family members have encouraged the public to follow the Guara’s outlook on life. The family-of-four focused on living in the moment and ensuring those around them felt loved.

Marcus and Anaely were remembered as devoted and loving parents, who loved their daughters more than anything.

One family member shared, “I truly believe God watched over them by not making them suffer without Lucia and Emma.”

The condo collapse, which occurred in the early hours of June 24, has claimed the lives of 64 people and over 100 remain missing.

Emergency services continue to search through the devastation. The search effort has been moved from a rescue to a recovery mission, authorities confirmed this morning. They stated that the “viability of life in the rubble” was low, according to CNN.
