A LOT Of Parents Wish They Hadn’t Named Their Baby That…

Choosing a baby name can be one of the most enjoyable parts of pregnancy and birth or a total nightmare, but the fact remains: it must be done.

And a name that seems suitable in the hazy newborn days may get a little tired quite quickly once you settle back into everyday life.

No surprise, then, that a whopping one fifth of parents admit they regret the name they chose for their offspring.

An online poll of more than 1,000 parents in the UK revealed that 18 per cent of mums and dads wished they’d chosen a different moniker, yet only two per cent were brave enough to change it.

The main issue shared by parents who regretted their choice (25per cent) was that the name was more popular than they’d originally thought, meaning their child was one of a large number of Jacks or Sophias in their age group.

Spelling or pronunciation issues were a source of annoyance for 11 per cent of respondents.
