Temperatures are set to plummet below freezing tomorrow, with possible SNOW falls

According to Met Eireann, temperatures across the country are set to drop below freezing tonight.

Yep, it’s finally time to dust off the heavy coats, as we’re set for minus two degrees.

A spokesperson for the national forecaster said:

“Tonight will be mostly dry with just isolated showers”

“Temperatures will fall below freezing for all areas, down to between minus 1 and minus 2 degrees. Winds will be fresh to strong northwest to west and later becoming northerly.”

Met Eireann said:

“Today will be cold. Rain in the east and south will clear and there’ll be dry and sunny weather for a time but showers will follow for the day and will be heavy at times, with the risk of thunder.”

No thanks.

“The showers will be most frequent in the west but will become widespread through the afternoon. Highest temperatures generally will be just 4 or 5 degrees, just a degree or so higher at the coasts and lower in the northwest where the showers may turn wintry over the hills.”

“Winds will be moderate westerly for a time before becoming variable then freshening from a northwesterly direction and becoming strong in the southwest.”

As for tomorrow:

“The freshening southerly winds will become strong southeasterly on Thursday night ahead of rain developing in the west.”

“Temperatures will be below freezing in places and the rain will be preceded for a time by a fall of snow as it spreads eastwards across the country.”
