You can leave the woolly scarf and bobble hat at home today. Step outside the door in a parka and you’ll likely be sweltering before you reach the office.
Ireland is basking in some bizarrely balmy weather conditions today, with Met Eireann describing temperatures as ‘exceptionally mild’.

The forecaster predicts the weather will remain warm, cloudy and breezy today, especially windy near west and northwest coasts.
We can expect scattered outbreaks of rain with hill and coastal fog and dry periods as well, especially in eastern areas. It’ll become generally drier in western areas later today with afternoon highs of 13 to 15 degrees.

It’ll be a mild and misty December night tonight, with overnight lows of seven to ten degrees. The unseasonably warm weather is expected to continue throughout the weekend and into next week.
All the better for soaking up that Christmas atmosphere!
