As the world reels from the news Great Britain has voted to leave the European Union, the parents of the generation the decision will most affect have been sharing their disappointment on Twitter.
In a move that will have far-reaching effects, not just for Ireland but for international relationships and the global economy, the people of the United Kingdom opted to leave the EU by a margin of 52% to 48%.
Here’s what parents had to say:

My children’s primary school. They wanted a very different future to the one they woke up to. #Brexit #EURefResults https://t.co/57h9FMzjpx

Devastated and overwhelmed to wake up to #brexit. My children’s future has been defined by politics of fear and hate.
