Tis fierce mild out! What to expect from the weather this week

The week ahead...

It’s unusually warm, isn’t it?

The weather has been incredibly mild over the last few days and that looks set to continue over the coming days.

According to Met Eireann, today’s weather will remain damp and misty in many parts of the country, particularly in Munster and Leinster, but will still be very mild with highs of 11 to 13 degrees.

Those in Ulster can look forward to the most of the sunny spells today.

From tomorrow night, the weather is set to turn to rain and drizzle with some local patches of fog.

However, it will remain mild with lowest temperatures set to hit seven to 10 degrees, which are four to five degrees above normal for this time of year.

For Friday, those temperatures are expected to be between 10 and 12 degrees, with moderate winds.

Heading into the weekend, as many of us head out for some last-minute shopping on Saturday, the weather is due to be breezy and mostly cloudy with a few bright spells.

However, patches of mist and drizzle are also to be expected so might be a good idea to bring a brolly.

Christmas Eve will be generally cloudy and locally misty with a few bright spells.
