Tom Daley and his husband Dustin Lance Black recently announced that they were expecting their first child through a surrogate.
The couple, who got married in 2017, joined Fearne Cotton on her brand new podcast, Happy Place, to talk about their impending parenthood and their journey getting to it.
While on the podcast, Tom and Dustin took the opportunity to share the good news that they are expecting a little boy.
They opened up about how they were planning to have a family since the very first time they met. They even had the names of their children from their first week dating.
Tom and Dustin said family is very important to them, having lost close members in the past and they said that ‘completing’ their family by having children meant a lot to them.
They began exploring their options in 2015 and eventually found an egg-doner and then a surrogate to carry their first child.
Dustin said they built a relationship with their surrogate who they now are very close with. They’ve said she wishes to remain anonymous.
