Two Coronation Street characters set to become prime suspects in factory collapse

Uh oh.

Two long-standing Coronation Street characters may reportedly find themselves being blamed for the upcoming Underworld factory collapse.

Upcoming scenes will see the roof of the factor collapse next month in a ‘colossal’ stunt, killing off a beloved Weatherfield resident.

While it first appears to be an accident, it won’t be long until it emerges that the disaster was actually deliberate – and Carla Connor, the owner of the factory, soon becomes a pariah on the street.

The Sun report that there are going to be two more long-time Weatherfield residents who get blamed for the factory collapse: Nick Tilsley and Gary Windass.

Nick will be investigated after the police officers find out the building was definitely sabotaged – and, in fact, reckon it may have been done as part of an insurance scam.

A source told the publication:

“They have just filmed scenes where cops are asking questions about Nick, his whereabouts on the day and involvement in Underworld.

“When the victim’s family ask officers if they think Nick did it as part of a insurance scam, they say they are exploring all lines of enquiry, but keep it vague.”

The publication note that if Nick is the culprit, it may be revenge.

Ben Price, who plays Nick, is said to have recently filmed scenes where his character was furious with Carla as she tries to “oust” him from the business.

Meanwhile, Gary doesn’t directly get blamed for the factory collapse – but he definitely ends up looking suspicious after he disappears afterwards.

Which probably isn’t the best move. OK, it definitely isn’t the best move.

The source added:

“Gary disappears after the factory death.

“His girlfriend Sarah panics and admits he took a bribe from Peter Barlow to keep quiet about the roof being dodgy and Carla knowing about it.

“It seems from the scenes that he also has money worries which is stressing him out.”
