Two men arrested in connection with pregnant woman being attacked

You might have read about the disgraceful event that happened to a 25-year-old pregnant woman in broad daylight in a Cork street last week, when drunken teenagers, unprovoked hit her in the face.

According to independent.ie, two men were arrested in connection with the attack, but have been released without charge.

The woman in question, Sintija, who was too frightened to reveal her full name says that no words were exchanged during the encounter, which occurred on November 29th, “I was walking home when I came to Princes Street in the city centre,” she said.

“I am six months pregnant and was wearing a heavy coat because of the wind and cold. As I was walking up the street alone, a teen came over and, as I passed, punched me in the face. I didn’t fall to the ground. I was very shocked. There were three or maybe four of them.”

She told the Independent, “They just stood there. I think they were watching me to see what I would do or say to them.”

CCTV security camera footage will play a crucial role in the investigation.

We sincerely hope that somebody is charged in connection with this awful incident. What a shock for any woman to experience, let alone when you are pregnant and fearing for the safety of your unborn child.
