Overall we’re more open-minded than ever before, but when it comes to the issue of pornography, it seems men and women simply can’t see eye-to-eye.
According to a new Gallup poll, while both sexes are finding more once-taboo behaviours “morally acceptable”, the issue of porn is the most divisive.
The poll revealed that 43 per cent of men find it morally acceptable, versus just 25 per cent of women.
Since 2011, men have consistently been twice as likely as women to deem pornography “morally acceptable.” although overall, regular majorities of men and women believe it is “morally wrong.”
The survey also revealed that both genders now agree that having a baby outside of marriage is morally acceptable, although at 65 per cent, women are slightly more likely than men (57 per cent) to say this. Meanwhile men are seven percentage points more likely to say polygamy or having an affair is morally acceptable.
