A mum who defended her decision to bill another mother when her child returned from a play date with scuffed shoes was reduced to tears on Good Morning Britain this week.
Sarah Bryan said she was shocked and horrified when her three-year-old daughter Isabella returned from a play date with marker and scuffs on her shoes.
The fashion designer, from Wakefield in West Yorkshire, made headlines the world over when she billed Nicola Gibbs, the mother of her daughter’s little pal for a whopping €380, asking her to replace the ‘damaged’ shoes by February 1.
Defending her decision in the media and refusing to back down, Sarah, who claims her daughter needs expensive shoes to further her child modelling career, also threatened to ‘take this higher’ if her demand for the cash was not met within the time frame given.
And appearing on Good Morning Britain with Pier Morgan this week, Sarah seemed to think that the public’s gobsmacked reaction to her story was a little unfair.
Happily, Morgan was having none of it.
“You’re not a responsible parent are you?” Morgan asked. “I do know what kind of parent you are, you’re the worst…”
After Sarah Louise took exception to this comment, Morgan added:
“There will not be a mother or father watching this interview who is not looking at you thinking ‘what on earth are you doing buying a three-year-old girl 60 pairs of shoes?’ Some of them worth £325.
“They will also be thinking – I can guarantee it, to a man and woman – sending a bill to a friend who has just had them round for a play date… Do you understand how preposterous this makes you look?”
As the debate escalates, Sarah Louise begins to cry as Morgan’s co-host Susanna Reid attempts to calm the situation.
The footage of the interview can be seen in the video below.
