Woman Stabbed In The Neck During Violent Handbag Mugging in Dublin Last Night

A Garda investigation has been launched after the attack in Drumcondra which happened last night at about 6.15pm.

It is believed that a 36-year-old woman was approached by another woman who demanded her handbag as she walked home from work in Dublin 3.

During the struggle, the woman was slashed in the neck with a knife.

The emergency services were called and the woman was rushed to the Mater hospital.

Gardaí are now appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward with information.

The incident happened on the busy Drumcondra road while commuters were travelling home from the city

 A Garda spokesperson confirmed today that her condition is not life-threatening. The area has been sealed off for a forensic examination.
