10 Signs That Your Other Half Will Make a Good Dad

First and foremost, we have to say that we don’t advise making any major life decisions or judgements based on this list.

Now, back to the matter at hand, chances are you are thinking about starting or have already started a family.

And chances are, you will have seen little glimpses of your other half that made you think: “God, he’ll make a great dad one day.”

Here are a few of the signs that we spotted…

He knows how to make your tea/coffee

Let’s face it, there’s going to be lots of tea or coffee, especially after the bundle of joy arrives. This not only shows that he pays attention but also that he knows you NEED a cuppa when you’re sleep-deprived.

He’s great with his younger siblings/cousins

When you see him throwing his little cousin up in the air or having a heart to heart with his brother, your broody heart will melt. (Just make sure nobody sees you visibly swooning.)

He brings you chocolate at that time of the month

Sure your monthly visitor will be taking a break during pregnancy but again this shows his caring, nurturing side. Just wait until you see him looking after a couple of sniffly ankle-biters!

He isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty

Be it unclogging the plughole or changing a tyre, a guy that is happy to get his hands (and clothes) dirty will definitely be ready for all those outdoorsy trips and dirty nappies.

He knows when it’s not you, it’s your hormones

When you insult him and he just lets it roll because he knows you’ve had a tough day and you’re premenstrual. There are going to be a LOT more hormones when the babies start arriving.

He’s good in a crisis

If he’s the type to stay calm during moments of upset, then he’s definitely going to be helpful when your kid has their first fall or their first high temperature.

He’s willing to make sacrifices

Even if it’s just giving up his favourite television show or sharing his pizza on a Saturday night, making sacrifices on a small level means he’ll be open to making them on a big level.

He doesn’t get annoyed when you accidentally hit him in his sleep

This will happen a lot more when the tots are running around at the crack of dawn with nothing to do at the weekends OR when they’re sleeping next to him in bed!

He puts his family first

You might not have liked it when he sided with his mum that time but a man who is loyal to family is the perfect one to protect your little family.

He puts on a funny voice when talking to his dog

Babies aren’t puppies but the fact that this cute little thing brings out the softie in him and he’ll do anything for it shows that he’s a dad in the making!
