Anne Hathaway Had The Best Response To What This Man Said to Her at The Gym Post-Birth

Anne Hathaway might be an Oscar-winning actress but she also recently became a mother.

The 33-year-old, who welcomed her baby boy eight weeks ago, recently appeared on The Ellen DeGenenes Show and proved that even A-list mums can face issues like body-shaming.

She told the host that she’d been to the gym three times since giving birth to Jonathan and that, on one of the occasions, someone said something rather insensitive.

The Devil Wears Prada star explained: “Normally you walk into the gym and you see people – I work out in West Hollywood – you see Thor’s trainer…

“I would normally walk in and feel so intimidated but I walk in and I’m like yea, I work out with 5-pound weights but I pushed a baby out of my body and I feel good right now!”

She went on to reveal that she was using a machine when she noticed a man staring at her. When she asked him if she was doing something wrong or he wanted to use the machine, he apologised and said he was just daydreaming.

Then, when she finished on the machine, the same man approached her and asked if she had been working out at the gym for a long time. Anne, pictured above with husband Adam Shulman, told Ellen that she thought the guy was hitting on her but she was wrong.

After telling him that she had given birth 7 weeks previously, she continued: “And I’m expecting him to say the thing that you say when someone says they’ve had a baby, which is “Oh my God, you look great.” Doesn’t matter if it’s true… But he goes ‘Oh, trying to lose the baby weight.’”

The new mum responded to the comment with style, saying that it was a little too soon to worry about the weight and she was simply trying to regain her strength.

Anne, we love you.
