A Las Vegas mum has posted a selfie of her breasts before and after pumping one litre of breast milk for her little boy… and the difference is remarkable.
Breastfeeding advocate Chi Chi La Flare pumped a little later than usual and experienced engorgement, where your breasts feel very full, and sometimes quite hard. Many mums experience engorgement when their milk first comes in.
Captioning the humorous photo: ‘When you sleep in and wake up not knowing who that girl is with the huge knockers…’ Chi Chi shared it with her hundreds of fans, many of whom were quick to identify and add their own breastfeeding tales in the comments:
daleslater88 commented: “I’m the one of the left right now. It hurts!” Meanwhile louise_672 added: “Been there done that and boy do they hurt x” and daniellebleu quipped: “Damn, girl, how long did you sleep?! That engorgement gives me flashbacks lol.”
Luckily the 34-year-old, who runs a breastfeeding support group, had no issues sorting the issue out.
She told DM:
‘I’m sure some women can relate to waking up and almost not even recognising your breasts because they’ve changed,’
‘I try to share the unpretty side. And not to say that I feel that’s ugly, but that’s rarely the part that’s talked about‘Sometimes they’re full like melons or flat like flapjacks. All is a part of the journey,’
