“I got actually criticised for kissing my daughter on the lips the other day. I kiss all my kids on the lips.
“Brooklyn, maybe not. Brooklyn’s 18, he might find that a little bit strange. But I’m very affectionate with the kids. It’s how I was brought up and Victoria, and it’s how we are with our children.
American footballer Tom Brady is facing criticism for kissing his 11-year-old son on the lips.
As part of an online documentary called Tom Vs Time, the sports star reignited the ongoing debate about parents kissing their children on the lips.
A scene in the series shows Brady getting a massage when his 11-year-old son Jack comes into the shot and asks to check his fantasy football team.
Brady says: “What do I get?” and his son gives him a kiss on the lips.
The footballer then says: “That was like a peck,” and this time Jack gives him a longer kiss on the lips.
“You know Jack, everything comes with a cost, bud,” says Brady as his son leaves the room.

The scene has received some criticism from football fans in the States, with many saying that it made them feel “uncomfortable.”
They took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
Tom Brady is one of my five favorite people (including family members), but him making his son come back and kiss him on the lips for a longer time because his first lip kiss wasn't long enough is some very very disturbing #content

Can we talk about Tom Brady's uncomfortably long kiss with his son or is now not a good time?https://t.co/zCw7egz4Lv pic.twitter.com/HA0NcckI6s

Everyone was questioning Tom Brady for kissing his son on the lips and as a child of European ass people who do this I was ready to defend but boy oh boy does that kiss linger

@FeitsBarstool Tom Brady kissing his 11 year old kid on the lips and then complaining that it was "barely a peck" forcing him to go back for a another, longer, weirder kiss on the lips is an absolute psychopath move

However, others didn’t believe that there was anything wrong with either of the kisses.
Rather, they argued that if people were feeling “uncomfortable” that was their problem, not Brady’s.
Anyone who feels it was inappropriate for Tom Brady to kiss his 11 year old son should get their mind out of the gutter. All I see is a loving dad… and last I checked, that was a good thing. https://t.co/rRCPvbldeI

Oh FFS. Tom Brady’s son giving his dad a kiss on the lips does not raise any questions. If you see something creepy in that video then that’s on you.

This is not the first time that a celebrity has been questioned for kissing their child on the lips.
Olivia Wilde and David Beckham have also been criticised in the past for seemingly being too affectionate with their kids.
Beckham defended his decision to kiss daughter Harper, saying that it’s how he and Victoria brought their children up.
He said:
“We want to show our kids love and we protect them, look after them, and support them, and we’re very affectionate with them.”
