British department store John Lewis have made their annual Christmas television ads one of the most anticipated of the season and this year’s is a real cracker.
Last year it was a little boy determined to find love for his penguin friend. Before that it was a cartoon bear who had never seen Christmas.
This year the marketing team have outdone themselves once again, pulling on our heart strings with The Man on the Moon, a gorgeous story with a very important message: thousands of people go for a month or longer without speaking to a friend, neighbour or family member.
The two-minute ad, using the strapline ‘Show someone they’re loved this Christmas’, was made in collaboration with the charity Age Action and features a version of the Oasis track, Half The World Away sung 19-year-old Norwegian artist Aurora.
